It certainly was not the average 911 call, but then again Hurricane Matthew had just ripped through Florida, so anything could happen. Anything happened to be a bald eagle stuck in the grill of a car.
Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported the incident through its Facebook page, detailing how responders were able to free the bald eagle and send it for care through a local group called BEAKS. And to honor the bird, they’ve named him Matthew.

While bald eagles have been taken off the endangered species, they remain a sensitive species. Florida has one of the most dense concentrations of bald eagles in the lower 48 states with an estimated 1,500 nesting pairs.
