Every year about this time in Australia, a group of lunatics take to small motorized dinghy boats and race them like maniacs through narrow canals.
The races are known as the Riverland Dinghy Derby and they recently held their first race in February. The good folks at Red Bull Sports have supportive of the endeavor, lending their special brand of film-making to the festivities.
In dinghy racing, surprisingly it’s not always the skipper who has the most control of the outcome. It’s the man the riding shotgun, who distributes his weight from side to side, that is often the most crucial partner.
In a video posted this week to Youtube by Red Bull, we see just what it looks like to be a part of this crazy race.
