The Winter X Games concluded its four-day contest of death-defying winter sports in Aspen, Colorado marking more than a few milestones.
Among the noteworthy victories, American snowboarder Lindsey Jacobelllis took home her 10th Winter X Games gold medal. She defeated her closest opponent in the Snowboarding X competition, a free-for-all race over jumps and around tight corners, by only a fraction of a second.

In one of the most spectacular tricks during the event, Joe Parsons landed backwards on his 400-pound snowmobile mid-air travelling 70 feet. Afterward he told reporters he hadn’t pulled the trick in about a year.
“I’ve done (the backward landing) here and there,” Parsons told the Aspen Times. “You really have to get hyped up to do it… It’s not that much fun to practice. It’s an in-the-moment thing.”

Maddie Brown, not only won her fourth straight gold medal in women’s Superpipe skiing, but did so in dramatic fashion becoming the first woman to pull a switch-stance 900. That’s when the rider approaches the jump backward and spins two and a half times around to land frontward.
Meanwhile Tuckerr Hibbert won his ninth consecutive Snowmobile Snocross gold, and Kelly Sidaru became the youngest X games competitor to win gold at 13-years-old.
