We have seen performance trucks race on ice in Red Bull’s Frozen Rush. Now two rallycross drivers take to a frozen lake in Sweden as a warm-up to the FIA World Rallycross Championship set to begin in April.
The video featuring acclaimed racer Sebastian Loeb coincides with his decision to commit an entire season to the more competitive rallycross tour and joining the Puegot-Hansen team sponsored by Red Bull.
To promote their efforts, Loeb and his new teammate Timmy Hansen recently took to a frozen lake in Sweden to test their driving prowess on ice.
Loeb, who won nine consecutive World Rally Championships and recently took on the Dakar Rally, wants to stake his claim as the most decorated off-road driver in history.
“The car and the strategy for this type of racing is completely new to me, so I have a lot to learn, but I hope I can be competitive pretty soon,” Loeb said in a press release.
The 41-year-old decorated driver showed a bit of what he was made of on the frozen lake. Watch as the pair demonstrate some smooth skills behind the wheel.
