Ice fishing is not always the most exciting activity, but when you bring out 10,000 fishermen, each bobbing their hooks through holes in the ice, now that’s another story.
The largest ice fishing contest in the world took place this month on Gull Lake in Brainerd, Minnesota known as the Brainerd Jaycees $150,000 Ice Fishing Extravaganza.
While there were lots of winners with prizes worth up to $150,000, the grand prize Ford or GMC pickup truck from the local Mills Auto Group went to Dan Volbert who caught a 5.33 pound walleye.
